What: HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division will host the christening ceremony for the future USS Jeremiah Denton (DDG 129), the third Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer to be built at the shipyard, on Sat., June 28. This event is NOT open to the public but will be livestreamed at the following link: Jeremiah Denton (DDG 129) Christening - HII. Media members are invited to the christening event and to participate in a media preview day on Fri., June 27.
Who: The media preview day on Fri., June 27 will include the mast-stepping ceremony and a visit to the christening site for interviews with family members of the ship namesake and Ingalls leadership. Media interviews will also be available with the ship co-sponsors and daughters of the namesake, Madeleine Denton Doak and Mary Denton Lewis following the christening ceremony.
